Visitors are to register via the intercom system in the visitor waiting area in front of the prison (30 metres to the right of the gate), stating the visitor number received when making the appointment. The visit begins approximately 20-30 minutes after the registration time agreed with the prison.

Visiting hours are generally two hours each month, usually every 14 days, divided into two visits of 60 minutes each. In addition, minor biological and adopted children may visit for two hours each month. This is subject to a separate approval procedure, which prisoners must initiate independently. Up until the age of 16, children must be accompanied by an adult when visiting.

Visitors aged 16 and over must present a valid identity card or passport. In the case of remand prisoners, a visitation permit from the competent court must also be presented if required by a court order.

So-called fictitious certificates only entitle the holder to entry if they have been issued based on a valid identity document from another country.

Admission shall not be granted in the case of a fictitious certificate that is merely based on the holder’s details or in the case of expired identity papers.

Confectionery and tobacco products are available for purchase in the visitors’ waiting room. For this purpose, you may take € 21.00 in cash with you into the waiting room. The machines accept coins and notes. Please note that you are not permitted to take any remaining money into the visiting rooms.
